Sheet metal parts for a Solar Cooker Jig Frame fabricated from 3mm cold rolled steel
A student approached us to assist on their project asking us to fabricate some 3mm thick steel sheet metal into folded brackets for their Solar cooker frame jig.
They gave us some PDF cad drawings to work from which had the flat patterns and fold lines marked up on it. We re-drew the flat pattern in cad for our machine files, then we waterjet cut the parts from 3mm thick cold rolled sheet steel and folded them on our cnc brake press.
Whilst this bracket looks fairly simple it did have some small challenges to overcome so that we could fold the 8 parts right first time.
With some careful thought, good tool selection and set up we were able to produce the part as required.
