Reverse engineered parts machined for superyacht Steel
A set of parts reverse engineered and machined in plastic for the superyacht “Steel”
The super yacht “Steel” was docked at MDL’s Marina at Ocean Village Southampton and whilst in dock they had some repairs done. We were tasked with reverse engineering a set of plastic parts issued to us.
Shown in the picture above are the original parts in the front and the batch of 10 of each part behind them.
The parts above were machined from black Delrin, reversed engineered from the original parts. The main part is turned on a lathe then the square was machined on a cnc milling machine.
Turned on a cnc lathe these PTFE plastic parts were made to match the originals.
These thin walled collars were turned from grey PVC reverse engineered from the original parts.
